Hack the Hospital

About Hackathon “Hack the Hospital”  is by 5G Transatlantic Lab which is a yearly lab created by Garage Stories and the Mobile World Capital Barcelona . It is to explore the potential of 5G and XR technologies applied to paediatric healthcare.Lab worked with the innovation unit of Hospital Sant Joan de Déu (Barcelona) and Boston Children’s Hospital (Boston) to bring together creatives and technologists. This hackathon is for the children(age 12-17) who spend long time in hospital for their treatment and care. The aim of this hackathon is to reduce the negative impact of long term paediatric patients (and families) experience at the hospital. Make children’s stay at the hospital as enjoyable and less traumatic as possible. The team Teams has been joined remotely because of Covid. That gave me chance of joining the hackathon which is very close to my passion and current project (technology in healthcare). Teams has been created so there must be a doctor from the hospital and rest would be designer/developers. What an Exciting 2014 was ! Is it same for you?

Every year in Jan we try to figure out how was the last year. There are always some regrets and pleasures. Same with me but one thing was different for me which made me feel happy about it and I want to do it again and again. I actually developed agile environment for my personal goals and family. I did sprint planning (1 month) and set targets for six months. As in agile we look and change lots of things through the process , it happened with me as well which helped me to stay motivated and positive quite a lot. I learned quite a lot as professional (see linkedin what I was doing), worked independently on my personal project (noor clothes and why I started), read lots of books (last book lean in by Cheryl Sandburge, good read), got into UX a bit more (course.ra and now ongoing general assembly course to become officially a UX designer), relaxed holidays (Summer wales trip), nice Eids and kept connected with many friends and family (some closed relatives like my Aunt Asma).
